http://www.macroevolution.net/dust-bunnies.html

Most questions that arrive when people talk about Dust Bunnies are, 'Where are Dust Bunnies from?' We all know Dust Bunnies are not bunnies, and the name seems so cuddly and cute. Dust Bunnies are simply outdoor/indoor dust. Arizona State Environmental Scientists discovered that dust bunnies is a potpourri- dead flakes of skin from Humans and animals, carpet and furniture fibers, tracked in soil, and airborne particles blown in from outdoors. House dust can usually lead to harmful particles from the outside. This may be very dangerous to kids because the kids are usually on the ground, picking the dust bunnies up or playing with substance infested toys.
Scientists found out that from Western homes have about 60 percent of house dust that originates from the outdoors.
So all the Dust Bunnies are are simply dust in the wind.
