UCI-Scripps Study Links Cellular Motors to Memory

Neuroscientists from UC Irvine and the Florida campus of The Scripps Research have discovered motor proteins play a major role in long-term memories. Two men from UCI found that special proteins are needed to maintain healthy brain functions and learning. Along with brain functions, these proteins produce the structure of spines. Myosin II motors are an important protein complex that control forces within cells. Both schools believe they are closer to a breakthrough dealing with aging and other mental issues.

In my opinion, I think they can find the solution to these issues in a time we need it most. Soon, scientists will find cures to other life-threating dieseases. The article had scientific terms I didn't understand, but I managed to comprehend the main idea of it. I really hope they find the cure to this illness because brain loss is close to life loss. All the scientists need to do is keep studying!
